Gaga’s Harley Quinn will not affect the DCU timeline and Robbie’s potential future with the role as Todd Phillips’ Joker franchise does not fall under the mainline DC Universe. Still, the previous Joker movie featuring Joaquin Phoenix in the DC outskirt did wonders at the box office while getting immense critical accolades. Regardless, Robbie was happy seeing other actors stepping up to take over the role, especially Gaga, knowing that she would do marvel dancing on the tune with the character.

“It makes me so happy because I said from the very beginning, all I want is for Harley Quinn to be one of those characters, the way Macbeth or Batman always gets passed from great actor to great actor. And I feel like in not so many cases are they female characters. Queen Elizabeth I, but like beyond that — which I got to have a crack at as well, which I was honored to do. I was like, ‘Wow, Cate Blanchett did Queen Elizabeth I. Now I get to.'”  Robbie told MTV in 2022.

Reflecting on Gaga’s role, the 33-year-old went on to say, “It’s such an honor to have built a foundation strong enough that Harley can now be one of those characters who other actors get to have a go at playing.” The Barbie star, who was nominated for Actress in a Musical or Comedy Motion Picture for her role in the Greta Gerwig film is akin to having faith in Gaga, “And I think she’ll do something incredible with it.” Most recently, Robbie stressed the idea of moving on from the iconic DC role despite her potential appearance in the DC universe including the already announced Max show Waller.
