Recently, Helldivers 2 has received an update about changes to some of the weapons that are included within the game. Some of these weapons have been nerfed, while others have been improved, but there is one weapon that the developers at Arrowhead Game Studios agreed was underperforming a bit too much.

At the moment, there aren’t too many weapons within Helldivers 2, but this will change with new content coming on a regular basis. However, one of the weapons that is already in the game has been a thorn in players’ sides since release, as it should be a lot more powerful than it is, and after weeks of complaining, the developers have finally listened.

Helldivers 2 Upgrades the Laser Cannon Stratagem That Players Have Been Complaining About

Helldivers 2 will finally bring some changes to our favourite weapons, but not all for the best.

Throughout the game, there are plenty of heavy weapons that players can access through the use of stratagems, and the laser cannon is one that gamers feel has let them down since release. Now, thanks to the developers reading and understanding these complaints, we finally got a major upgrade to this weapon.

Many of the complaints about this weapon stem from the fact that its counterpart, the orbital laser, seems incredibly overpowered as it is able to defeat even the toughest enemies in a matter of seconds, and players expected it to be rather similar but understandably slightly weaker.

Unfortunately, many gamers were let down by this weapon, as it barely made a dent in even medium-sized enemies and was only really effective on small ones. But now, thanks to the new buffs to the weapon, we can finally see more laser cannons being used by the community.

If You Are Looking to Cook Your Enemies From the Inside, Then the Laser Cannon Could Be the Weapon for You

If you love the orbital laser in Helldivers 2, you will love its little brother, the laser cannon.

Currently, the laser cannon is a rather unique weapon as it has unlimited ammo but can overheat while also being able to melt standard enemies both literally and figuratively. However, thanks to the new changes that are in this update, we finally see a big improvement.

First of all, the laser cannon has undergone a change that increases its damage against large body parts, which is very effective against the hulks and bile titans. Secondly, the laser cannon has also had its armor penetration increased to allow players to take on the bigger threats that plague the universe.

Finally, there has been an upgrade to the weapon ergonomics, which will enable it to be even easier to use by the Helldivers 2 community, even those with shaky aim. At the moment, these changes are on probationary as this is not how the weapon was originally designed, so if the development team decides it is now too powerful, they could change it back to being a pea-shooter.

What do you think about these upgrades to the laser cannon? Are you looking forward to heating up the Automatons or melting the aliens? Let us know in the comments!
