Ubisoft first announced Assassin’s Creed Infinity back in July 2021, and everyone was left to speculate about whether it was a new game or something else. Since then, only tidbits have been known about Infinity, with Ubisoft’s Marc-Alexis Côté calling it a “platform” for all the upcoming games in the popular franchise.
However, there has always been a question as to how this hub will work and what else it will have. The important details now seem to have been answered, as a new report has surfaced and explains important things about Assassin’s Creed Infinity, including when players can expect it.
Assassin’s Creed Infinity Is a Live-Service Hub for AC Games
According to an exclusive report by Insider Gaming, Assassin’s Creed Infinity will be acting as “the core hub” of the Assassin’s Creed franchise, and it is where upcoming games in the franchise like AC Red, AC Hexe, and AC Invictus will be released.
Insider Gaming also got a look at the demo footage of AC Infinity, and as per the report, it will take players “just a few seconds” to launch AC Red from the Infinity hub. Users will be able to pick up the games from where they left off, and there will be no need to boot them individually with AC Infinity.
AC Infinity heavily focuses on offering live service to players and will have several features that are included in a live service title. In simple terms, AC Infinity could somewhat be like Fortnite, a central hub and game that also acts as a launcher for other games.
It will have an item shop called ‘The Exchange’ where players can buy daily and weekly cosmetics for protagonists.
Infinity also has a feature called “Synchronization” that lets players access “Projects” for each protagonist, which are kind of like battle passes, and this is just one of the many features that Infinity will entail.
Infinity Will Launch With Assassin’s Creed Red, Possibly This Year
According to the report, AC Infinity will be launching on the same day as Assassin’s Creed Red, which is set in ancient Japan and is expected to be released in 2024 or the first quarter of 2025. Ubisoft reportedly plans to launch one “mainline” Assassin’s Creed game every two years, and some “smaller experiences” in between the mainline titles.
As for the other upcoming games, AC Invictus, the multiplayer title, is expected to launch in 2025, and AC Hexe is planned to release in 2026. AC Hexe by Ubisoft Montreal is said to be “the darkest Assassin’s Creed game ever” and will have a female protagonist currently known as Elsa.
Some more projects in the AC franchise include an AC IV: Black Flag remake; AC Nebula, which is set in India, the Aztec Empire, and Mediterranea; AC Raid, which is a free-to-play co-op multiplayer title; another AC remake; and AC Echoes, which is also a multiplayer title.
