Ubisoft’s latest addition to the Assassin’s Creed video games series, Assassin’s Creed Mirage, was officially released for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S on October 5, 2023. The game mostly received positive reviews after its release, especially for its simplistic approach.
As gamers explored 9th-century Baghdad as Basim Ibn Ishaq, some stumbled upon a cat with an Assasin’s Creed logo on its nose. Turns out, Ubisoft added this as a tribute to a fan’s cat with the same logo on its nose. There was a famous comment under one of Ubisoft’s Facebook posts where a gamer requested the creators to add his friend’s cat, who passed away, to the game. Fans are melting to see this emotional tribute as this cat will forever live on in Assassin’s Creed Mirage.

The Easter egg came from a Facebook comment
Many people dug to know the backstory of the easter egg and came across a Facebook comment under one of Ubisoft’s posts, where a person named Alanna Sas revealed that the cat had passed away and requested the creators to add the cat to the game (via TheGamer)
“Please add this cat who’s face has the AC logo on his precious snout to the game. He belonged to my friend and he recently crossed the rainbow bridge. I will happily pay with coffee and Timbits to any team members willing to pull overtime to put him in there.”
It seems like Ubisoft came across this comment as the cat actually made it in the game, and fans are loving this easter egg. There are a lot of cats that the player stumbles upon throughout the game, but these cats with the logo on their nose give players items when petted.
Check out the easter egg yourself in Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed Mirage, which is now available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
