The future of Assassin’s Creed is looking busy and bright with recent leaks indicating future multiplayer co-op games, newer cultures and mythology to explore, and a touch of nostalgia through remakes. All are exciting news but what fans are up on their feet is the potential remake, and the majority could agree on which particular installment they want to see remade with a new coat of paint and optimized for modern hardware: Assassin’s Creed.
The original game has set the bar for what it takes to be an AC game by having action, stealth, and an incredible world to explore. The foundation has been set in place and Ubisoft managed to build upon a series of games set within the same franchise but at different points in time. The developers pulled off this remarkable and ambitious feat and reaped the benefits.
The OG Assassin’s Creed Deserves a Remake
The world was introduced to Assassin’s Creed in 2007 which received generally positive reviews from players, but other reviewers and critics were too hard on the game’s AI and how unpolished it was. At the time it was a technical marvel but to see that core game given the triple-A remake treatment would be a good move for Ubisoft with a touch of nostalgia.

The first game was a successful proof of concept that this genre has a strong fanbase which would lead to the production of sequels and spinoffs, fans will certainly enjoy whatever the studio is cooking. Currently, the name of the protagonist of the upcoming Assassin’s Creed entry this year codenamed Red has leaked, and it is shaping up to be a response from the developers after years and years of asking by finally visiting feudal Japan. The franchise truly resonated with fans in a way that built up loyalty and passion for the IP.

Ubisoft has that they are a studio with resilience and creativity, not only they are doubling down on original content but also keeping up with other modes of gameplay. Providing players who are into co-op with their future multiplayer titles while accommodating legacy fans by remaking older titles and creating new stories for a larger audience to get them hooked into the world of Assassin’s Creed.
The beauty of time is that it is a great way to gain inspiration, Ubisoft was able to borrow certain elements and showcase them to players by immersing them in the world. Fueled by exploration and history as well as cultural enrichment, it is a testament to their skill to work on multiple projects ranging from new stories, co-op for competitive players, and remaking legacy titles like the OG Assassin’s Creed to honor their past while looking ahead to the future.
