But even after so much, fans are not satisfied and want to see more of the father and son duo. By the looks of it, God of War lovers could have their wish fulfilled. There is no guarantee about it, but God of War developer Santa Monica Studio hints about the return of God of War.

Is There Any New God of War Game in Production?

With lots of grueling fight scenes and an incredible plot with unforgettable characters, God of War Ragnarok has left the fans in a state of buzzing and full of anticipation. Odin was a potent antagonist, yet Kratos and Atreus, along with several other characters, defeated him.

The ending shows Kratos finally getting accepted and worshipped as a God. A tearful moment for both – Kratos and the gamers. On the other hand, Atreus is seen to be more interested in exploring the world. Due to this, gaming enthusiasts think that there might be another sequel incoming.

Their suspicion became more prominent when Santa Monica Studios posted job openings for Combat Designer, Senior Combat Designer, Senior Combat Designer (Companion), Senior Manager (Game Design), Manager (Gamer Design), etc. Moreover, it was clearly mentioned “must have knowledge of God of War (2018) and God of War Ragnarok.” When the dotted lines are joined, people can see the picture more clearly.

Where Will Kratos and Atreus Go Next?

For the moment, there is no way of telling where the father and son duo will go. In fact, there is no confirmation of a sequel yet. But the fans are speculating it to take place in the sandy deserts of Egypt. At first, it was Greek mythology, then it was Norse mythology, so the next part taking place in Egyptian mythology has a high chance.

Cory Balrog, the director of God of War (2018), during the 2018 Devcom, said that their initial plan was to take Kratos to Egypt. Even though he did not confirm it, there is no denying that the game developers had ancient Egypt in their minds for quite some time.

Another speculation involves Kratos taking a stroll through ancient Ireland. Mimir was seen to be well versed in Celtic mythology, so it also has high chances. Also, Ben Prendergast, the voice actor of Tyr, mentioned that Tyr would return in the future. This time, it would be real Tyr and not Odin in disguise.

For the moment, these are all speculations. But the God of War fandom would love to see more prequels in the future. The story of Sindri was also left unfinished. It was all green in Greece because the forests and Norse mythology showed water bodies and ice in shades of blue. Egypt will have a yellow background due to the sand.

Kratos and Atreus fighting pharaohs, hiding from sandstorms, killing humans with animal heads, etc., is still a thought. It is just like Kratos said, “Patience Boy”.
