Attack on Titan Is Extending Its Award List
Attack on Titan won the Astra Award for the Best Streaming Animated Series or TV Movie at the 7th Astra Film Awards on January 6, 2024. The Astra Awards is presented by the Hollywood Creative Alliance and produced by Vox Productions, DIGA Studios, and Content.23 Media. Attack on Titan was nominated for the award on December 7, 2023, after the nomination list was published on the official HCA YouTube channel.
The finale is streaming in several countries, and the watch hours are still on the rise. The numbers are going to increase because the English Dub for the last episode was released on January 7, 2024. Even though the finale was released in a movie format, Japan released it in a single-episode format ranging from episodes 88 to 94. Attack on Titan’s Best Streaming Animated Series or TV Movie win is the first time that an anime has won that particular award at the Astra Awards.
Apart from Attack on Titan, there were others from the anime category, too. Hayao Miyazaki won the Best International Filmmaker award. In the Best Animated Feature Film, Suzume was nominated, unfortunately, it lost to Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. The Astra Award night was good for anime fans as their favorite genre left an impression in front of the whole world.
