Attack on Titan Fly, scheduled to be released next year, will be the first AoT volume created by Hajime Isayama after over two years. Fans are overhyped for the upcoming addition as it will include an 18-page manga that provides a deeper perspective into Levi Ackerman’s life, the second spin-off manga that is based on the Suvey Corps trooper.

A work arising from the fan demand, Attack on Titan Fly will not resume the main story that ended with the publication of the Final Chapters. It will instead feature an artistic revamp of the ending scenes which had been previously criticized for being too plain. Isayama will provide the rough sketches while a special illustrator is going to work on the overall designs and color.

The highlight of Volume 35 will undoubtedly be the spin-off dedicated to Ackerman. Fans are eager to learn more about Levi although they may not remember the first manga that explored the character’s backstory.

Released in 2013, Attack on Titan: No Regrets is the first spin-off that is dedicated to the character of Levi Ackerman. A prologue chapter of the visual novel was published in the November 2013 issue of Aria magazine Aria following which it quickly sold out. The series was eventually divided into two volumes by 2014 while a colored edition of the entire series hit the market in 2017.

Attack on Titan: No Regrets also has a DVD version. The script for the animation episodes was done by Yasuko Kobayashi and directed by Tetsurō Araki in collaboration with Wit Studios, the previous animators of Attack on Titan before MAPPA Studios took responsibility for the Final Chapters anime saga.

Upon the release of its English translation, the spin-off manga immediately gained attention such that both volumes gained spots in the best-seller lists of the New York Times list.

Volume 35: Attack on Titan Fly will include a manga dubbed ‘Bad Boy’ that will describe the story of a young Levi Ackerman coping with life in the Underground. ‘No Regrets’ tells the story of Levi Ackerman before he joins the Survey Corps. Living life as a criminal, the manga describes how the Underground and his time with killer Kenny shaped his personality. His two best friends, Isabel Magnolia and Farlan Church, act as accomplices until Erwin Smith spots Ackerman and recruits him into the Corps.

Attack on Titan: No Regrets has already given fans a picture of Levi’s time as a criminal. The 18-page Bad Boy manga in Attack on Titan: Fly will thus add to the lore by capturing Ackerman’s early days as a young boy living with his mother. Her death leaves him emotionally scarred but he is able to channel that pain into his determination to work for the Survey Corps.
