Hajime Isayama’s Attack on Titan finished publication in April 2021 while the animated series came to an end in November 2023. Fans experienced the bittersweet ending of Eren Yeager achieving his mission of ‘cleansing’ the world but losing his life in the process.

Season 4 literally ended with a bang and AoT viewers have since been speculating whether a new season could be in the making. Currently, there is no official news of whether Attack on Titan will not have a new series. Isayama could take a Boruto-like approach and picture the next generation of the Rumbling survivors or develop the backstory of fan-favorite characters.

The mangaka seems to be on that route. A new Attack on Titan manga is slated to release next year and it will explore the story of a young Levi Ackerman. If Hajime Isayama continues working on the lore, AoT Season 5 could definitely highlight the backstories of several characters whose past was barely known by the readers.

Attack on Titan Fly – Hajime Isayama’s Upcoming Manga Volume

Approximately three years after the ending of the manga series, Attack on Titan is aiming for a comeback with a new compilation by Hajime Isayama. Volume 35 is titled Attack on Titan Fly. The one-shot included in the volume based on Levi is titled ‘Akudou’, which translates to ‘Bad Boy’ in English. Speaking of the art book, it will include preliminary sketches, storyboards, and newly created color pages that give a complete visual overhaul of the 57-page The Final Chapters arc.

The new designs will be made to satisfy the fan base who were disappointed by the ordinary storyboards for the final season of Attack on Titan. While the designs of the characters will be created by Hajime Isayama, the same artists who worked during the manga’s initial run years ago will take responsibility for the sketches and coloring.

Attack on Titan Fly is scheduled to be released on April 30, 2024. It was officially announced to be in production on October 4, 2023, although rumors and leaks about the manga had hit social media a week before the reveal.

Levi Ackerman’s Childhood Will Be Explored By ‘Bad Boy’ Manga in Volume 35

A Reddit user shared images of the first four draft pages for ‘Bad Boy.’ Based on that, the upcoming manga by Hajime Isayama will describe the tough conditions that Levi Ackerman was brought up in during Kuchel’s life in the Underground area. The place is described to be “horribly filthy, and even the air was rotten” but Levi noted that his mother was as elegant as ever in the gloomy place.

Levi is also seen being bullied by multiple adults after they steal something that belonged to his mother. Someone mentions that he was “the kid that Kenny The Ripper was looking after.” Kenny is an infamous killer in Attack on Titan who trained his nephew, Levi Ackerman, in surviving the harsh conditions of the Underground and paved the way for him to join the Corps.

Given that Levi’s training hadn’t been featured much in AoT, ‘Bad Boy’ will dive deep into the relationship between Kenny and Levi. We may also get to know the actual father of the character as it’s only stated that Kuchel got pregnant by a nameless client.

It will be a real treat for AoT fans to get to know the upbringing of humanity’s strongest soldier. Levi has some of the most iconic scenes in the franchise, such as Kenny’s chase or his battle with Zeke that left him grievously wounded. He has cheated death on multiple occasions and the same may have been the case in the Underground when he was young.
