Attack on Titan Finale Illustration Suggests that Eren Yeager Might be Seen as the Main Villain

The official X (previously Twitter) account for the Attack on Titan anime posted an illustration on Friday, November 3, 2023, revealing the finale, with protagonist Eren Yeager conspicuously missing.

The illustration was created by Manabu Akita, who is the Chief Animation Director for the anime series. Eren Yeager’s presence in the latest Attack on Titan finale illustration might not be clearly shown by the appearance of the Founding Titan in the background.

It’s uncertain whether the Founding Titan actually represents Eren or if someone else is controlling it after his head was reconnected in the later part of the Final Season.

Eren isn’t featured in the poster, which focuses on Mikasa Ackerman, Armin Arlert, Reiner Braun, Levi Ackerman, and others trying to stop him.

This suggests Eren might be seen as the villain. The presence of the Founding Titan and the Colossal Titans in the Rumbling strengthens this idea by showing them as a looming threat on the horizon.

The Attack on Titan finale episode will premiere on Crunchyroll and Hulu, with at least a 5-day delay after its official release in Japan. While waiting for the next episode, let’s take a look at the summary of the previous episode to recall the story.
