Baldur’s Gate 3 is a title that ruled the minds and hearts of millions of gamers when it came out in 2023. The title effortlessly scooped up significant awards, including GotY accolades, and sold over 10 million copies.
At its core, the game is based on the tabletop RPG system of Dungeons and Dragons, but it also adds a lot of nuance to the formula popularised by D&D. However, there is a way to play the title in the good old-fashioned way.
Add a Little Bit of Spice to Baldur’s Gate 3 With This Chaos Run
Baldur’s Gate 3 is a turn-based RPG, and a large chunk of the game involves the player making decisions and dealing with the consequences. However, just like any other RPG, players are expected to use their wits to traverse through the Forgotten realms.
To simulate the D&D, all one has to do is use a dice while playing the tabletop RPG title. This was shared by a user on the game’s subreddit.
Campaign Idea: Ultimate Chaos Run [TL;DR at Top of Post]

As per the TL;DR of the entire proposition, one has to let chaos loose and automate the decision-making process with the help of a 20-faced dice, which is precisely how one would play Dungeons and Dragons.
This would inevitably lead to some enjoyable and chaotic moments in the game. This is primarily because the team at Larian Studios has intricately designed it.
It seems like one of the many players on the game’s subreddit already gave this approach a shot, and they also shared their experience, which should be enough to get players hyped up.

Indeed, as stated by the player in the post’s comments, it would be a spectacle for gamers who like watching video game streams and ‘let’s play‘ videos. More importantly, this seems like something that Swen Vincke would approve of.

While it cannot be said for sure what Vincke’s precise reaction would be towards this approach of playing the game, the director has gone on record in an interview to state that he likes playing D&D in the car, not the traditional way, but in a casual way with his kids.
While this anecdote from Vincke doesn’t paint him as a D&D enthusiast, it does hint at his openness to experiment with the traditional way to play a game.
Considering how the Reddit post was, in essence, about experimentation, it is likely to be something Vincke would approve of.
