Happy and delightful with the news, the makers of Baldur’s Gate 3, Larian Studios, shared an official word through an X thread regarding the game’s arrival on Xbox and in the form of physical copies:
Xbox fans, and fans of physical media, watch this space for a formal announcement. It’s going to be a busy week
Now that’s something to look forward to. Additionally, the team also mentioned the list of nominations in favor of Baldur’s Gate 3:
- Game of the Year
- Best Game Direction
- Best Narrative
- Best Score and Music
- Best Performance
- Best Community Support
- Best RPG
- Best Multiplayer
That’s quite the celebration for team Larian, and we’re eager to see how this goes forward. In the meantime, we’re speculating what the physical copies will look like, considering Baldur’s Gate 3’s collector’s edition. Interestingly, the collector’s edition on PC and PS5 included everything except the physical disc. Instead, players got a download code. It would be great to finally see fans receive a physical disc, especially for Xbox gamers who have been waiting for quite a while now.
Earlier this year, Larian announced how it has been working with Phil Spencer to ensure the game’s smooth delivery on Xbox consoles. In fact, the game will continue to live up to its remarkable standards despite some hiccups along the way during the development of the game for Xbox Series S consoles.

Not too long ago, the Golden Joystick Awards this year awarded Baldur’s Gate 3 with the Ultimate Game of the Year award. As celebratory as it is, we did see it coming since the game has received major praise from critics and users, and Larian Studios was victorious in every category it was nominated for. The game won awards for its excellent storytelling, visual design, and community. Furthermore, actor Neil Newbon won the award for Best Supporting Performer.
As we are aware, 2023 has been a big year for gaming. We’ve received massive titles like Starfield and Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 this year, along with superb indie releases. Baldur’s Gate 3 paved its way against other nominees like Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, Diablo 4, Street Fighter 6, and more. Titles like Sea of Stars came as a surprise too, rebranding traditional RPG-pixel games into modern gaming.
Baldur’s Gate 3’s immaculate gameplay design makes the game stand out from other titles in the RPG subgenre, especially when we think of games that try to replicate the D&D gameplay into a rewarding video game experience.
It’s obvious why so many players still cannot get over the game’s immense size and replayability. Moreover, each of these playthroughs is unique to the player’s gameplay experience. So far, PC and PlayStation fans have been enjoying the heck out of it, and soon Xbox players will join the party.
