Barry Keoghan is not afraid to bare it all, and that’s why he managed to go all out in his performance in Emerald Fennell’s Saltburn. He portrayed Oliver Quick, an Oxford University student invited to a luxurious estate owned by Jacob Elordi’s Felix and family.
In the movie’s final scene, Keoghan is seen dancing naked in full-frontal shots around the mansion. In the background, Sophie Ellis-Bextor’s Murder on the Dancefloor can be heard by the viewers.
Barry Keoghan On That Famous Saltburn Scene
In the latest issue of Vanity Fair, actor Barry Keoghan removed all of his clothes and channeled Oliver Quick’s iconic scene from Saltburn. In the video clip, he was the last to appear after his co-celebrities graced the screen. He shared with the magazine:
“I didn’t really draw parallels to him the way I have to certain other characters. I do dance around naked though, in my house. Everyone does, man. We all sing in the shower. We all act silly when we’re alone, and we feel this freedom. It’s one thing that I did relate to. Not dancing around a manor of that sort with that fecking drip hanging about — but I sing out loud, I dance silly and move my body silly.”
Keoghan also talked about the tendency of people objectifying him after he appeared naked in Saltburn. He said he does not think about it too much.
“I wouldn’t go there if I wasn’t prepared for that, or if I wasn’t open to receiving what people want to say. I think it shows an act of maturity in your craft, and if it justifies the story and moves it forward, why not? You look at European cinema, and they tend to have a lot of scenes that involve n*dity, and it’s not a massive thing, really.”
In line with his magazine photoshoot and his unforgettable Saltburn scene, Keoghan thinks n*dity is a form of art.
“I think it’s true art. It really is. And it’s true vulnerability as well. You’re really kind of putting yourself out there in the most vulnerable state. It’s beautiful to look at. I’m not saying it’s because of my body, but it’s freeing to see that body move around in the way it does.”
While the actor believes in expressing oneself in the most freeing way possible, some fans did not appreciate him channeling Oliver Quick once more.

While some fans appreciated Keoghan’s courage to pose naked, and others were indeed amused, the majority of the crowd is absolutely tired of seeing the actor bare it all – that does not mean he would stop doing it in the future.
In any case, Saltburn starring Keoghan, Jacob Elordi, and Rosamund Pike is now streaming on Prime Video.
