For Batman fans, Meta Quest 3 dropped a teaser for the new virtual reality (VR) game that’ll allow them to step into the caped crusader’s shoes. The game is developed by Iron Man VR creator Camouflaj, so fans can expect a similar experience as its Marvel counterpart. Iron Man VR was praised for its flying mechanics, and so should be the case with this game.

Most of the DC superhero’s film adaptations have been praised, including those of played by Christian Bale, Ben Affleck, and Michael Keaton. Nevertheless, Kevin Conroy’s voice behind the superhero has become akin to a habit fans couldn’t kick. But they may already have found the one who might be replacing the late actor.

Those Are Some Big Shoes to be Filled in After Kevin’s Departure

Fans weren't happy with the disrespectful tribute to the Batman voice actor in Suicide Squad.

Last checked, the fans weren’t really happy about his ‘tribute’ in Rocksteady’s Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. Meta is not yet clear about who will be stepping into those shoes, but fans had a wild guess over social media platform X (formerly Twitter).

In one post shared by a user called Batman_Beware, he shared an image showcasing a repost from Roger Craig Smith. For those who don’t know about him, he has voiced Chris Redfield in the Resident Evil series. Most recently, he has been sending players in Helldivers 2 to planets to liberate Super Earth.

With how popular Arrowhead Studio’s live-service game is, you’ll no doubt recognize his dulcet tones from Helldivers 2, and with his prior experience as the Caped Crusader himself, it’s hard to argue against the possible casting. He was the voice behind the superhero in Arkham Origins. Interestingly, he has also voiced Captain America in some Marvel projects.

Nothing has been confirmed yet, and this could end up being wide of the mark, fan speculation, or just a former actor showing some love to their previous role, but it is interesting nonetheless.

The man’s talent has been called upon by Disney, Sony, Xbox, and more, which also makes him a solid candidate to take on the legacy of the veteran voice actor.

There’s Another Candidate Just As Fitting For The Batman’s Voice

As of now, Roger has provided his voice performance as Bruce Wayne in animated series’ including Monster MayhemMechs vs. MutantsAnimal Instincts, and more. However, he is not the only candidate who could potentially replace Kevin.

Though fans may find it hard to believe, comedian and actor Diedrich Bader was speculated to step into Kevin Conroy’s shoes. Of course, the nature of the DC superhero and Bader’s niche doesn’t really go hand in hand, but he too has voiced Bruce Wayne in some projects.

Despite the fans not being very happy about the ‘tribute’ in Suicide Squad, they still believe his short presence in the game was significant. Whoever is being chosen to voice the DC superhero should know the role comes with a great deal of responsibility, which could make or break them.
