Kevin Smith is a well-known filmmaker, author, comic-book writer, and also friends with Ben Affleck. Also, a podcaster, his comments in a February 2022 episode of his FatMan Beyond podcast, has shaken the world of social media by unknowingly starting a string of rumors that Alan Ritchson might be a potential Batman cast.
While praising Ritchson’s acting in Reacher, he had stated,
“Every episode is satisfying. I can’t think of a better word for it, man. It’s like Batman with no cape. That’s it. He just f***ing rolls around punching f***ers and killing them.”
Ever since his massive compliments for the Reacher, fans have started creating numerous fan art of Ritchson as the Caped Crusader. Not only have they been welcoming of the actor being the potential next Batman, but they have already started campaigning about him playing the character.

To be directed by Andy Muschietti (via Variety), DC’s Batman: The Brave and the Bold will feature the Bat-family, with Damian Wayne (son of Bruce Wayne) serving as Robin to his father’s Batman (via ComicBook). Based on Grant Morrison’s 2006 to 2013 comics, it will feature an older Batman, old enough to have a young son as Robin.
Seeing the particulars of the role, Reacher star Alan Ritchson would be the perfect choice for it. With a great muscular build, brooding looks with a sharp jawline, a stoic personality, and the perfect voice, the actor checks all the boxes that the DC role requires.
Furthermore, his history with the DC mythos makes him a worthy contender. The actor started his acting career as Arthur Curry aka Aquaman in Smallville and portrayed Hank in the Titans TV series. He has even voiced Raphael in the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle movies, proving that he’s more than aware of how the comic-book world moves around.
