Apart from being an incredible actor, George Clooney is also popular for his hilarious pranks on the set of his films. Well, George Clooney finally found his match in Brad Pitt.

It’s always fun to see the prankster become the one getting pranked. But as far as George Clooney is concerned, he did not like the taste of his own medicine one bit. In fact, Brad Pitt’s prank on George Clooney was so elaborate that Matt Damon recalls seeing the actor the angriest he has ever been!

When the team of Ocean’s Twelve was shooting for the film, the actors stayed over at George Clooney’s villa that he had just bought in Lake Como, Italy. Brad Pitt, who joined the sleepover, devised a hilarious prank to pull on the renowned prankster.

Talking to CNN, Matt Damon recalled how Pitt sent out letters to the Italian crew pretending to be Clooney or Clooney’s team. In the letters, Pitt wrote that the crew was not to look the actor in the eye and only refer to him as Mr. Clooney or Mr. Ocean.

“Brad Pitt sent out letters in Italian to the Italian crew. Now George had just bought this place in Lake Como. He was very, very proud to be living in Italy a lot of the time. Loves the country. He’s like, Mr. Italy. Everybody loves George there and Brad put out this letter to the crew out as if it was from George or George’s people, which said, ‘Please understand, you’re working with Mr. Clooney. You may not look him in the eye at anytime. You will not refer to him as George. You may call him only Mr. Clooney or Mr. Ocean.”

Damon added that the prank went on for days where the crew members would be averting Clooney and Clooney, being the “life of the set” realized that something was wrong. When the Gravity actor finally got to the bottom of it, he came home absolutely fuming. Damon recalls,

“We’re all staying together at his house and he came home and that’s the maddest I’ve ever seen him because Brad got him. And Brad sat there and he just said, ‘Just leave everybody else around me out of it. Just come just for me.’ Leave the civilians out of it.”

Clearly, Clooney did not appreciate it when he found himself on the receiving end of a prank since he is usually on the other side. However, Pitt just might have taken one for the team by giving Clooney a taste of his own medicine!

George Clooney’s Simple Prank on Brad Pitt

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight for Ocean’s 11, Clooney was asked if he ever pulled one of his many pranks on his co-star, Pitt. As it turns out, Clooney did not need to figure out a detailed prank to get Pitt. The idea was simply enough. He stated, “The act of not pulling a prank…” and Pitt added, “That was the problem.”

“It’s the fact that he did not pull a prank. He’s notorious for pranks. He’ll write pranks out for years and there was much pranking going on. And I made the mistake of lending him my room key and then it hit me, ‘Woah, woah, what did I do, what did I do.’ Then for the next two months proceeding, I would come home and spend about forty-five minutes searching my room. That was brutal.”

That’s a classic! It looks like Clooney does not need to actually pull an elaborate prank at all. The idea of him pranking you is enough to make you be on the constant lookout.
