Steven Yeun starrer Beef has become an awards darling as the hit Netflix show has swept the season, winning various acting awards and Best Drama series in major awards shows. The show, which chronicled the consequences of the escalating feud between the characters played by Yeun and Ali Wong, resonated with audiences and has become one of the streamer’s biggest successes of 2023.

Fans have been clamoring for the two characters to return for a season 2. However, series creator Lee Sung Jin has since clarified that the ending of the show was also the ending of the arcs of the characters. He also pointed out that the show could be continued if it was turned into an anthology. Now, new information about season 2 has been revealed, and it’s a juicy one.

According to Deadline, Beef season 2 is eying a stellar cast and will reportedly feature feuding couples. May December‘s Charles Melton and Priscilla‘s Cailee Spaeny will play one of the couples. The other couple will be played by Jake Gyllenhaal and Anne Hathaway, who will reunite on screen after almost 14 years.

The two actors starred in the beloved 2005 romantic drama Brokeback Mountain and the rom-com Love & Other Drugs. The pair’s chemistry on-screen in those two films was loved by fans and will indeed be a great reunion to witness as they go against the other couple in the second season. The production of the second season is expected to start by the summer or fall of 2024.
