Ben Affleck Calls Kevin Feige As “The Greatest Producer Who Ever Lived”

As the Marvel Cinematic Universe is ushered into its fourth phase under the able leadership of Marvel Studio’s President Kevin Feige, a notable personality from the DC Extended Universe has showered praises on the creative genius of Marvel’s think tank. Ben Affleck, the former Batman actor who reprised his role of the Dark Knight in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Justice League has shared his candid feelings about Feige, the man largely responsible behind MCU’s staggering success.

As one of the youngest recipients of the Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay alongside his close friend and actor Matt Damon for Good Will Hunting (1999), Ben Affleck has established himself as one of the most sought after stars in the industry. As a director, Ben Affleck’s The Town (2010) had received critical acclaim, followed by Argo (2012) for which won the Academy Award for Best Picture.

In a recent podcast with The Hollywood Reporter, Affleck talked candidly about his flourishing career in the industry which has been marked with ups and lows. While chatting about his latest film The Way Back, the veteran actor/director had much praise for Marvel Studios’ head honcho Kevin Feige, calling him “the greatest producer who ever lived”. Back in 2003, Affleck had played the role of Matthew Murdock in Daredevil in which Feige was the co-producer. The snippet from the podcast is listed below:

“F***ing Kevin Feige is absolutely; you have to say, the greatest producer, most successful producer who ever lived,” Affleck declared. “He’s the only guy in the world who, if he told me, ‘I know what the audience wants! This is what we’re doing!’ I would believe him 100%. That f***er knows his audience like no producer (ever); he’s a genius. Kevin is like a ringmaster at the circus; he knows exactly how much to wink at the audience, exactly when to pull at the heartstrings, exactly when to do the effects, how many jokes, what the sensibility, what the tone is. Because people didn’t know to run away from the pajamas or embrace it or make it serious.”

As Ben Affleck is confirmed to reprise his role as Batman for probably the last time in Andy Muschietti’s The Flash, there has been no news of the veteran actor switching to the MCU in the near future. However, Affleck has been attached with an upcoming  Disney movie The Keeper of the Lost Cities. As Marvel Studios comes under the banner of Disney, here’s to hoping a future collaboration between Feige and Affleck in the MCU.
