Believe it or not, the Academy Award star, 51, has pocketed an eye-watering $333,000 a second for the commercial, which is more than what he earned from his first Oscar-winning movie, Good Will Hunting. Yes, this mind-boggling statistic sheds light on the ever-evolving dynamics of the entertainment industry and its lucrative relationship with advertising.

For 30 seconds of airtime, Jennifer Lopez’s husband was being paid $10 million to run on Dunkin’. Sales of the breakfast chain must have skyrocketed after Affleck starred in a Super Bowl commercial last year as a drive-thru employee of Dunkin’.

Ben Affleck Earned $10 Million for a 30-Second Dunkin’ Donuts Super Bowl Ad?

Ben Affleck was paid $10 million to run on Dunkin’ for 30 seconds of airtime last year. According to reports, Dunkin’ offered the actor that amount in exchange for him appearing in the 30-second drive-thru segment of last year’s Super Bowl commercial. The company claimed that the day following the 2023 Super Bowl saw more doughnut sales than any other day in company history, so it seems to have paid off.

CNN was informed by someone with knowledge of the Dunkin’ Super Bowl campaign:

Entering into a business partnership with the California-born Affleck propelled Dunkin’ into the mainstream consciousness. Dunkin’s president, Scott Murphy, recently spoke with Entrepreneur about Affleck’s 2023 Super Bowl commercial, the company’s first-ever Big Game commercial.

“We ran it once and got 7 billion media impressions, and it kind of kickstarted the year. The brand is just in the conversation. It just really feels in the fabric of things now.”

Affleck’s role in Dunkin’ success cannot be disputed. Nevertheless, the cost was high. According to three people with knowledge of the partnership, Affleck received payment for the Dunkin’ Super Bowl commercial from last year, which was almost $10 million (via CNN).

Moreover, according to ET last year and a source who spoke with CNN, Dunkin’s substantial donation to Affleck’s nonprofit, the Eastern Congo Initiative, was a condition of the agreement for him to join. Well, his salary for approximately one second of a commercial surpasses what he made from an entire movie for which he was awarded an Oscar.

How Much Did Ben Affleck Earn for His Role in Good Will Hunting?

Ben Affleck and Matt Damon rose to fame with Good Will Hunting. Now that it is regarded as a decade-ending classic, many have questioned how much money the former made from the movie, particularly in light of the substantial salary he would later receive.

Affleck had a great start to the 1990s, but as the decade came to an end, things really started to click for him. Good Will Hunting, one of Affleck’s biggest projects at the time, was a co-writing and acting vehicle for the actor. For Matt Damon and Affleck alike, this was the film that ultimately changed everything.

Affleck received a significant pay increase as a result of his performance; he was reportedly paid $300,000 for his role, as we learned from TV Overmind.

Earning $300,000 after splitting $600,000 with Damon must have felt like a victory for the actor, and he made the most of the chance while the cameras were rolling. Indeed, his acting had a greater impact on the film, even though he was not the primary character.

Well, one could legitimately contend that no one could have predicted the film’s degree of success.

Good Will Hunting is streaming on Max.
