One of the most exciting yet worrying parts about making sequels to films is the returning cast. Until the casting is officially announced, fans are constantly worrying if their favorite actors will reprise their respective roles or not. So, when it comes to Sonic the Hedgehog 3, who apart from Schwartz would be returning for the sequel?

For starters, Tika Sumpter will be reprising her role as Maddie Wachowski and James Marsden will also be returning to play the sheriff of Green Hills, Tom Wachowski. Additionally, Tom Butler will be back as Commander Walters. Idris Elba’s voice has also made its way back to the films as he is all set to reprise his role as Knuckles the Echidna.

On the other hand, while it once appeared as though Jim Carrey would not return to play Dr. Robotnik, Variety recently confirmed that Carrey would indeed be coming back for one more performance as the mad scientist. While his character took a great fall in the last film, it was revealed that his body was not found which means that Sonic’s enemy is still out there somewhere, waiting for the perfect moment to strike!
