Channing Tatum has been known for doing all kinds of antiques on the sets of his films. Having some iconic roles in movies like Magic Mike, The Lost City, and, Step Up, Tatum has solidified himself as an actor and a great dancer.
On the sets of Magic Mike, special ‘toys’ had to be brought in to shoot a scene where a man’s silhouette shows one of his body parts. Well, Channing Tatum along with his co-stars started playing like a lightsaber with the toys as they made whooshing noises at each other with adult toys in their hands!
When Channing Tatum Played Lightsabers With Adult Toys!
The world has known and loved stand-up comedian Gabriel Iglesias for a long time. With his comparisons and his experiences of working in Hollywood, Iglesias was a part of the 2012 movie Magic Mike.
Working alongside Channing Tatum, the comedian revealed a hilarious tale about actor Joe Manganiello, Channing Tatum, adult toys, and lightsabers. In a YouTube video titled The Magic Mike Story, Gabriel Iglesias talked about how the 12-year-old kid inside everyone jumped and they started a lightsaber battle!
“His [Joe Manganiello] character name in the movie is Big Dick Richie. Joe’s a cool guy. We became buddies after the movie. He’s big, ripped and his whole thing is he comes up on stage and he’s dancing behind a silhouette so all you see is a shadow. After the third minute, he grabs his G-string and tears it off exposing a shadow of…you know, [Elephant noises]”
Iglesias further joked that Joe Manganiello did not in fact possess a [elephant noise] and so, they had to call up an adult film company that was up the street. When the adult toys came, Iglesias revealed that they couldn’t help themselves but play lightsaber with them.
“Channing Tatum goes ‘Are you the guy?’ and he [the provider] says ‘Yeah, I’m the guy.’ He got all the actors around a kitchen table and it [the toys] made a mountain. All the actors we’re just standing there just staring. All of a sudden, the 12-year-old came out of all of us because we all grabbed one and started playing Star Wars. Just [Wooshing sounds]. ‘Hmm, bend over you will!'”
Well, it does seem hilarious to imagine Channing Tatum and the cast of Magic Mike running at each other with adult toys in hand and making lightsaber noises.
Channing Tatum Is A Better Stripper Than Joe Manganiello
Starring and stripping alongside each other, Channing Tatum was once asked the question, who was the better stripper between the two? Speaking to Vanity Fair’s lie-detector test, Tatum revealed that he was a far better stripper than Joe Manganiello.
“100%. We’re different, different classes of strippers. When you look in the dictionary next to, like, the perfect specimen of a man, probably Joe Manganiello is one of those bodies that pops up,” Tatum said, “because he’s kind of weirdly flawless. But as far as stripping goes, I would put myself above him dance-wise. Sorry, Joe.”
With a rating of 6.1/10 on IMDB and 78% on Rotten Tomatoes, Magic Mike spawned a franchise with three movies to its name. The original 2012 film is available to rent on Apple TV+.
