Given its name, it’s no surprise that the movie included a lot of intense dance scenes. But doing one of these steps could have “nearly killed” the lead actress. Salma Hayek (who played the love interest of Mike in Magic Mike’s Last Dance) revealed that in one of the scenes, things went drastically wrong that almost killed her.

In an interview on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Salma Hayek said Channing Tatum “nearly killed” her in rehearsals when a lap dance move went wrong. Hayek ended up upside down with Tatum holding onto her pants. The México-born star recalled:

“You know, this one part that’s not in it is where I’m upside down, and my legs had to be somewhere. But upside down, one loses sense of direction, and I didn’t do what I was supposed to do. So in the rehearsal, I went like, head down, almost hit my head.”

Hayek added:

[Channing] held on to my pants, but I was really concerned because my pants were going away, and I couldn’t remember if I had underwear or not in this moment. So, instead of putting my hands to protect my head, I just held onto the pants. He’s like, ‘Put your hands up,’ and I’m like, ‘No, no, no, no.’”

The 57-year-old concluded:

In Magic Mike’s Last Dance, Tatum returned as the titular stripper. He falls in love with a passionate, wealthy older woman (played by Salma Hayek) — who encourages him to organize a stripper stage show in London.
