1. Resident Evil 4
Resident Evil 4 is the remake of the 2005 game Resident Evil 4, and given how well Capcom had remade the first three games in the franchise, Resident Evil 4 was expected to be something of the same sort. The game remained true to its source, but it felt like a blend of the original game and the last two remakes in the Resident Evil series.
The story was largely unchanged, where players play as the US agent Leon S. Kennedy, who must save the daughter of the United States president from the Los Illuminados cult. However, the remake brought an overhaul to the visuals and combat, AI improvements, better characterization, and altered gameplay, making the game one of the highest-rated titles on Metacritic this year.
