But that’s not it, with dropping hints to the Sinister Six in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, the stage is set for the upcoming sequel, Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse, to finally bring this iconic villainous team to life.
The highly anticipated sequel to Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse is said to be going where Andrew Garfield’s The Amazing Spider-Man 3 failed to reach. The third installment of Miles Morales’s multiverse journey will introduce the notorious Sinister Six who will serve as the main antagonists in the film.

The Amazing Spider-Man 3 Cancelation Shattered Fans’ Hope To See Sinister Six On Big Screen
The Sinister Six, a formidable group of supervillains, has long been engaged with Spider-Man in comic books. The original lineup is composed of some of the most iconic supervillains, including Doctor Octopus, Kraven the Hunter, Vulture, Electro, Mysterio, and Sandman. This team of antagonists seeks to dismantle the web-slinger at every turn. Their collective strength and nefarious schemes have always challenged Spider-Man, forcing fans to earn for their debut in the film as well.
The road to bringing the Sinister Six to the big screen has been a complex one. Teased in Marc Webb’s The Amazing Spider-Man 2 post-credits scene, the makers planned to introduce the cartel in the third installment of Andrew Garfield‘s starrer The Amazing Spider-Man and even planned for a spin-off film, but sadly these projects were abandoned. Fans were left disappointed as the studio abruptly halted production, leaving the Sinister Six’s fate uncertain.
Sinister Six To Make Appearance In Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse

While The Amazing Spider-Man series failed to bring the Sinister Six’s potential to fans. The Spider-Man Across the Spider-Verse seems to correct this missed opportunity and hinted the same through its scene during the climactic showdown between Miles Morales and the villainous Prowler from Earth-42. As shown in the film J. Jonah Jameson while reading a news report mentioned the “Sinister Six Cartel” wreaking havoc. This scene strongly suggests the presence of the Sinister Six in Beyond the Spider-Verse.
Building upon the success of its predecessor, this animated masterpiece, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, paves the way for the Sinister Six’s grand entrance into the last installment of Miles Morales’s trilogy. With its multiverse concept and boundary-pushing storytelling, the upcoming sequel promises to showcase the true menace and power of the Sinister Six.
Spider-Man Across the Spider-Verse was released on June 2, 2023, and is currently available in the theaters.
