Ryan Coogler and Michael B. Jordan have been on the rise in Hollywood for the past decade. The duo collaborated on Coogler’s debut film before tasting commercial success with Creed. Their work together on Black Panther also received critical acclaim as the film grossed $1.349 billion at the global box office. The duo will reportedly reunite for a new project that is being produced under Coogler’s Proximity Media. Coogler developed the screenplay based on his original idea. The spec script has been completed and is being reportedly shopped around to streaming services. Jordan is set to star in the project, presumably playing the lead role. According to some sources, the film will have a period element to it and is being described as a “genre” film. Hence, the movie’s subject material will likely range from science fiction to horror or even fantasy. Insider Jeff Sneider reported that the film has a vampire aspect to it, implying Jordan will play a creature of the night. Coogler is set to produce the film under his Proximity Media banner alongside Zinzi Coogler and Sev Ohanian. There is currently no known release date for the project.
