The Ghostbusters franchise is a unique take on the supernatural genre, mixing it perfectly with comedy and strange supernatural entities. It’s almost been 40 years since the first Ghostbusters movie came out in 1984 and became a smash hit.
Ghostbusters movies sit in their own sweet spot between horror and comedy. In these movies, there is a fantastic chemistry between the main and side characters that makes every scene an absolute joy to watch.
Paul Rudd himself admitted that he grew up watching Ghostbusters films, and it was like a dream for him to play Mr. Grooberson in the franchise. Now, another actor is excited to work with Rudd on the upcoming iconic project within the nerd movie genre.
Patton Oswalt is Hyped Working with Paul Rudd in Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire
Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire is an upcoming film that follows the storyline of Ghostbusters: Afterlife. It is the fifth installment in the beloved franchise. Directed by Gil Kenan, it promises a new adventure in the supernatural comedy realm.
The film boasts a star-studded cast, including Paul Rudd, Carrie Coon, Finn Wolfhard, Mckenna Grace, Celeste O’Connor, and Logan Kim. Rudd, Coon, Wolfhard, and Grace will reprise their roles from the 2021 Ghostbusters: Afterlife.
In addition to the new stars, the film features iconic cast members from the original 1980s series—Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson, and Annie Potts—alongside newcomers Kumail Nanjiani and Patton Oswalt.
But it looks like the Blade actor Patton Oswalt, is freaked out to join the franchise more than any other actor. As he recently posted on his X account:
I’m in a Ghostbusters movie! Sooooo cool. See you next year! #GhostbustersFrozenEmpire pic.twitter.com/1NxF54ihhN
