World of Warcraft is an iconic game. The MMORPG was released in 2004 in Australia and North America. For Europe, the release date was a year later for the game, despite the game’s release happening two decades ago. The game is still ranked number one in all MMOs.
The game still enjoys a huge player base. Blizzcon saw Blizzard reveal some exciting plans by Blizzard for World Of Warcraft. The game already has nine expansion packs since its release. On November 4, 2023, Blizzard announced the game’s 10th, 11th and 12th expansion packs.
The three expansion packs for World of Warcraft: The Worldsoul Saga. The first one is titled The War Within and is scheduled for release next year. The release date window says the expansion should be available on or before December 31, 2024. The date isn’t precise, but the announcement cinematic for the expansion has already been released.

World of Warcraft‘s upcoming expansions, namely The War Within, Midnight, and The Last Titan. Only the first one has been discussed at length, and the details about the other two remain largely undisclosed.
The new cinematic linked above features Anduin and Thrall, who seem to be discussing recent visions that they have had. They mention that a strange voice calls to them. The giant sword that was once plunged into Azeroth by Sargeras is part of the tale about to be told.
The cinematic is a visual delight containing moments of emotion and a touching background score. It is topped with some enchanting voice acting by the two characters.
The World of Warcraft legend Chris Metzen also appeared in Blizzcon’s segment for the game. Metzen announced the expansion and the broader narrative. The first expansion for World of Warcraft will be set inside Azeroth’s subterranean regions. The region will be rife with Nerubians and an Allied race called the Earthen Dwarves.
In The War Within, we will also see the talking knife Xal’atath returning to the game. New zones for World of Warcraft, like Azj-kahet, Isle of Dorn, The Ringing Deeps, and Hallowfall, will also be experienced by players. There will be a new treasure-hunting adventure activity called Delves.
An arrangement and a feature to unify accounts will now also be provided by Blizzard called War Games. The new expansion for World of Warcraft will also bring new dungeons and raids to the game.
The Eleventh and Twelfth World of Warcraft Expansion Packs: What’s Revealed So Far
The other two expansions do not have many details revealed about them yet. That may be because the first one will be released at the end of next year. This means the following two will be released even later.
So, not revealing details about them seems the wise thing to do. There are, however, some details known about the expansions. The eleventh one, titled Midnight, will occur in Azeroth’s “Old World” in Quel’thalas. The development will see the invasion of Void forces. The Void Forces will also attempt to destroy the Sunwell successfully. Due to this, darkness will be dissipated across the world.
The final entry serves as an epilogue to the Worldsoul Saga. This will also take place in the Old World but in the Northend. The area served as the staging ground for the game’s second expansion. These expansions see the return of Titans to Azeroth and their uncovering of a conspiracy about the Titans and their intentions.
World of Warcraft, due to the studio’s continuous efforts, has become a force to be reckoned with in the MMORPG sphere. The new expansions announced for the match only hint that the studio has no plans to give up on the game.
