Blue Beetle’s Entire Domestic Collection Predicted to Not Even Reach 10% of Henry Cavill’s Man of Steel: “Can’t wait for James Gunn to save DC With his amazing plans”

This is going to really hurt you if you’re a fan of DCEU. They are currently facing the worst phase. The most recent in that run was June’s much-anticipated The Flash, which on its $200+ million budget cost Warner Bros. a staggering amount of money and even ended up being one of the biggest flops in Hollywood history.

Amidst this, box office estimates indicate that their upcoming movie, Blue Beetle‘s release could signal the beginning of a decline in DC movies’ efforts to make an impression on the cinematic landscape. Given the $120 million budget for the film, such a projection would be nothing short of a catastrophe for Warner Bros. Discovery.

Is Blue Beetle Going To Be Another Disaster?

When you consider how Black Adam, Shazam! Fury of the Gods, and The Flash all had terrible box office performances; the upcoming movie Blue Beetle is reportedly following a few tough acts, according to Comic Basics. To put things in perspective, The Flash reportedly had a $200 million production budget and has so far collected $267 million at the worldwide box office.

Box Office Pro has released its projections for Blue Beetle, and it appears that the movie will add to DC’s long list of box office flops. The opening weekend is expected to bring in between $12 million and $17 million, which would result in a domestic box office total of about $27 million, whereas Henry Cavill‘s Man of Steel earned $291M at the domestic market.

Given the projected box office results, the movie’s $120M budget is unlikely to be even partially recouped.

Fans React to Blue Beetle Box Office Prediction

Blue Beetle might be the first DCEU film of 2023 that doesn’t disappoint, but with box office projections indicating a miserable $12 million to $17 million opening weekend, it’s obvious there isn’t much enthusiasm.

All these projections might make Blue Beetle the DCEU film with the lowest box office debut ever, possibly breaking the record of $16.7 million set by Wonder Woman 1984‘s pandemic release in December 2020.

Blue Beetle stars Xolo Maridueña, Bruna Marquezine, Adriana Barraza, Damián Alcázar, Raoul Max Trujillo, Susan Sarandon, and George Lopez.

Blue Beetle is slated for an August 18, 2023, theatrical release.
