As new information has started to flow in, it seems like Captain Marvel may have a lot more to do in the franchise in the future. New insider reports claim Danvers may seek the help of Sorcerer Supreme Wong as well as Bruce Banner to help understand the powers of The Quantum Bands while also attempting to bring back Monica Rambeau to the main MCU universe.

The year 2023 was filled to the brim with disappointments for the MCU in the form of its major motion pictures, more specifically, the release of The Marvels, which became the first flop in the history of the cinematic juggernaut.

But despite speculations of the end of the road for actress Brie Larson as Captain Marvel, it seems like she might be moving on to even greater things in the future.

In a recent Q&A session by The Comic Circus, industry insider Alex Perez was bombarded by questions as to what the future of the franchise had in store for fans. Here, the reporter also asked what the future holds in store for the Kong: Skull Island actress.

Talking about this, Perez claimed that she is one of the few active characters in the MCU timeline at the moment, which along with having possession of one of The Quantum Bands, is seeking to understand it better and what it can accomplish along with finding a way to bring back Monica Rambeau into the main MCU universe.

Thus, to know what this ancient and powerful relic is capable of, she will be seeking the help of Bruce Banner, played by Mark Ruffalo, in the future due to his understanding of quantum physics as well as Wong, played by Benedict Wong, since he’s The Sorcerer Supreme. He said:

“I have heard Carol’s role in the MCU as of now is to focus on two things. The first is to decipher the true origin of the Quantum Bands from The Marvels, with Carol presenting her bangle to Wong and Banner, while Kamala does the same, albeit with a couple of new friends on the way. The second thing is to find a way to bring Monica back to the MCU, but given what we know about incursions, they might find their way back to each other sooner than they think.”

While all of this may still be unconfirmed at the moment, seeing as what the last MCU film had to offer, it seems highly likely that this is the path that her story takes.

Since the franchise is in a very volatile state at the moment due to the changes that Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige has initiated seeing the poor state of the franchise, we will only be receiving one new major film from the studios in the form of Deadpool and Wolverine this year.

Seeing the push from the MCU towards the introduction of the Mutants from the X-Men in the franchise, there have been several reports of rapid expansion on that front, recently in the form of X-Men ’97. In conjunction, the cast of the upcoming The Fantastic Four was already confirmed weeks back, as well as speculations as to how the superhero team would enter the main MCU timeline.

Deadpool and Wolverine, in cinemas on 26th July 2024.
