Now You See Me is a heist franchise that has a nuanced and unusual take on the genre. No doubt this has caused a lot of fans to fall in love with the film. With the third film confirmed, they just want one thing: Bring Isla Fisher back. However, sometimes even beloved franchises have to make creative choices that do not sit well with the audience. Now You See Me is no stranger to unfortunate timing.
Fans have taken to X (formerly Twitter) to talk about what they want in the franchise, including what they want the franchise to change, and what they want the franchise to keep the same in the first installment. With Now You See Me 3 in active development, this seems to be the right time for fans to make their expectations with the franchise known to the producer.

Fans want Isla Fisher back in the films
Ilsa Fishers achieved mainstream success in 2013 with Now You See Me and The Great Gatsby. Henley Reeves, Fishers’ character in the former, was highly applauded by fans. Her character in the film was a stage magician and an escape artist. She served as an assistant to the film’s protagonist, J. Daniel Atlas, played by Jesse Isenberg. Fisher was unable to star in the film’s sequel, Now You See Me 2, due to her pregnancy, which left a lot of fans wishing for her to return. With the third film confirmed, fans are hoping she returns:

In the sequel of the film, Fisher’s character was replaced by another, named Lula, played by Lizzie Caplan. Fisher was unable to return to the sequel because of her pregnancy. The actress is married to Borat alum Sacha Baron Cohen, with whom she has 3 children. However, now that a third film is in production with Venom director, Ruben Fleischer, there are a lot of expectations from the sequel, beyond just bringing Fisher back:

Fans in particular want Fisher’s character to co-exist in the universe with Lula, having both of them interact. Given the dynamic these characters had among the Four Horsemen (the name given to the heist team in the films) it would be interesting to see how their partnership would unfold throughout the film.
Several actors are already returning to their roles
While fans will have to wait and see if Fisher returns to reprise her iconic role, Lionsgate has confirmed that at least three of the original stars of the franchise are sure to return:

Ruben Fleischer will direct while Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, and Morgan Freeman will reprise their roles from previous films.

Jesse Isenberg and Woody Harrelson have confirmed that they will be returning for their respective roles. The duo has been carving out quite a niche in Hollywood as a bakable pair, not only starring together in the Now You See Me film franchise but also in hit popcorn films like Zombieland and Zombieland: Double Tap (both directed by director Ruben Fleisher). Apart from the two, Morgan Freeman is also set to reprise his role in the film. We are yet to hear if any other cast members will be returning. Fans wait to hear more about the project. The release date for the same is yet to be revealed.
