Chris Hemsworth’s journey in the Marvel Cinematic Universe has been one crazy ride. His character, Thor Odinson, went through a lot of development and reinvention over the past decade, and yet, he remains one of the strongest and most formidable Avengers of all time.
It’s safe to say that Thor had a lot of iconic moments throughout the saga, but there’s one scene in Avengers: Infinity War that he takes pride in the most. This particular act showed the extent of his power, as well as his burning passion to defeat the Mad Titan.
Chris Hemsworth Looks Back On Thor’s Iconic Scene In Avengers: Infinity War
On his official Twitter account, actor Chris Hemsworth shared a video clip from 2018’s Avengers: Infinity War where Thor arrives in Wakanda. The scene opens in the middle of chaos as the Avengers fight the enemies. Captain America, Iron Patriot, Iron Man, Black Panther, and Bruce Banner were seen struggling to take down the Outriders.
Soon after, a powerful stream of light came down from above which revealed Stormbreaker. The axe boomeranged across the field, taking down multiple foes. Then, Thor appears as he catches his new weapon. In the caption, the actor wrote: “Bring Me Thanos!!!”

In an interview with BBC Radio 1, the Australian heartthrob talked about this particular scene.
It was pretty special, and I hadn’t seen the film yet, and Joe Russo was telling me about it now. When we shot that scene, I was like, ‘No, yeah,’ didn’t think it was gonna be a special scene.
He admitted getting “real sort of tingles” when he finally watched it. “It was the first time I’d seen the special effects woven in place,” Hemsworth recalled. The actor shared that someone from India sent him an audio clip of an audience’s reaction. “It was like, they said, three-minute cheering and screaming. It was crazy,” he added.
It’s still a bit upsetting to think that this type of collective reaction from fans due to a tremendously epic scene might never happen again in future MCU installments. Avengers: Secret Wars promises exciting things, but it won’t feel the same anymore without the OG heroes of this franchise.
Will Thor Be In Avengers: Secret Wars?
It remains a mystery what part Thor will play in the upcoming Avengers: Secret Wars. Up until now, the director’s seat remains vacant. There is also no official cast announced yet. After the debacle on the fourth Thor movie, Chris Hemsworth expressed willingness to return in hopes of redeeming his character.
The actor confessed via Vanity Fair that he thinks “he owes the audience another Thor after what felt like a whiff with Thor: Love and Thunder.” If this becomes a reality, then there’s a possibility that he might continue his journey towards Avengers 6.
So far, there is scarce news about Thor’s participation as Marvel Studios focuses on the upcoming releases for this year until 2025.
