Avengers: Infinity War came out all the way back in 2018 and we are still trying to get over the fact that some of Earth’s mightiest heroes were, quite literally, turned to dust in a snap. Thanos clearly had the upper hand over them. However, Michael B Jordan, who played Erik Killmonger in the Black Panther movies thinks he would be a better opponent for The Mad Titan.

According to Michael B Jordan, Erik Killmonger’s plans are always carefully curated to take down his enemies and this is something he would have used to beat Thanos at his own game. However, the fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe are having none of it as Michael B Jordan gets brutally trolled on the Internet for his claims.

We all saw what Thanos did to some of the strongest superheroes in the MCU during the events of Infinity War. No matter how much they tried, Thanos was always one step ahead and there was no stopping him from completing his goal.

While attending a charity event in support of Lupus LA, Michael B Jordan was stopped by The A.V. Club to discuss the outcome of a Thanos vs. Killmonger duel. The actor, who helped raise over $250,000 for the charity, stated,

“[laughs] This is the first I’m hearing of it. I think the one thing about Killmonger is he really plans his attacks, and they’re well thought out. So if he ever stepped in a situation with Thanos, he would feel confident that he had the upper hand—at the very least, he would know he had a shot. So I mean, we already know that Erik’s willing to sacrifice himself for a greater good, so I don’t think he’s ever fearful of losing his life. So I think if he ever stepped in front of Thanos, he’d already have a plan for taking him down.”

While Killmonger did defeat Thanos in the epic finale of What If…? season 2, Infinity War was a completely different story. And even though Killmonger was a force to reckon with in Black Panther, we are not sure if he would be able to bring down Josh Brolin‘s Thanos, especially all on his own. But hey, we love the confidence!

Fans Troll Michael B Jordan

Jordan’s claims that Killmonger would be one step ahead of Thanos did not sit right with fans of the superhero universe who took to X to troll the actor. According to the fans, Killmonger couldn’t even defeat Black Panther and succumbed to his injuries almost immediately after. They also joked that Avengers: Infinity War was not from Jordan’s Creed franchise and that Killmonger wouldn’t have a chance in front of Thanos.

Thanos was undoubtedly one of the most dangerous villains who stood in front of the Earth’s mightiest heroes. It took a lot of sacrifices from them to restore the world to normal. While Killmonger’s undoubtedly a fan-favorite antagonist, we don’t think his well-thought-out plans would be enough to bring Thanos to his knees.
