When it comes to entertainment on the silver screen, there are only a handful of shows that have stood the test of time to be called iconic, and The Office is one of the contenders for the top spot. Pioneering the art of the cringe-comedy genre, it became something that defined revolution and innovation on the silver screen like few managed to do before it.

And since the last season premiered back in 2013, people have been desperately asking for a reboot of the series with original cast members like the evergreen Steve Carell and John Krasinski.

Alas, series creator Greg Daniels never seems to have jumped on that hype train and, instead, focused on creating a similar series with an all-new cast and premise. But fans still have a ray of hope as per a recent report by Deadline. It was claimed that his upcoming series will be an original creation but will be set in the same universe as his last iconic series.

This has also opened the gates for crossovers of characters from the old series to blend into the new project and give rise to some more iconic moments. In accordance with that, if the project gets the green light, then he would also bring on board the Nathan For You co-creator Michael Koman for creative assistance.

It was also earlier revealed that this new series will be an expansion of the original with a new cast in a new setting, but it wasn’t confirmed whether the two shows would co-exist in the same world or not.
