WWE 2K24 is all set to launch on March 8 across PlayStation, Xbox, and PC platforms, and some players will be able to play the game as early as tomorrow with Special Editions of the game. The game’s roster is one of the best, with several fan favorites returning to the virtual ring.
However, popular wrestler Brock Lesnar, nicknamed The Beast Incarnate, is confirmed to not be coming to the game. But as it turns out, the popular superstar is still in the game in some capacity despite being removed from the game cover and not mentioned in the playable roster of the game.
Brock Lesnar Isn’t Entirely Removed from WWE 2K24
According to the Pro Wrestling site Ring Side News, Brock Lesnar hasn’t been completely removed from WWE 2K24, which is understandable as to how close the game’s launch is but is available in the game to play. Apparently, Lesnar will not be unlockable, but players will be able to play as him in 2K Showcase Mode.
The 2K Showcase Mode is a mode that recreates the biggest matches in WWE history and features some of the most popular stars and Wall of Famers of the WWE universe. This mode was first seen in WWE 2K14 to celebrate 30 years of WrestleMania and is now back in WWE 2K24.
The 2K Showcase mode will commemorate 40 years of the WrestleMania experience, and as players play and progress through the 2K Showcase mode in the game by completing objectives, they will be able to unlock new characters and cosmetics, iconic arenas, championships, and much more.
Lesnar has appeared in several editions of WrestleMania, and one of his most memorable matches is the 2014 match against The Undertaker at WrestleMania 30, in which he defeated The Undertaker, ending his 21-0-win streak. This match has been expected by the fans but hasn’t been announced yet, so it might be present in the 2K Showcase Mode.
Why is Brock Lesnar Not Playable in WWE 2k24?
Brock Lesnar is one of the most popular names in the WWE, and his unavailability in 2K24 is saddening for many, but the main reason behind his removal from the game is the allegations of sexual misconduct against former WWE chairman and CEO Vince McMahon, which also implicated Lesnar.
This led to the 7-time WWE Champion and 3-time WWE Universal Champion’s removal from the cover of the Forty Years of WrestleMania Edition of the game, which features several other WWE superstars. Moreover, Lesnar’s removal from January’s men’s Royal Rumble was also because of this, and since then, he hasn’t been seen on WWE television.
Lesnar, as well as Vince McMahon, are also not included in the official 2K24 roster, which features a lineup of more than 200 playable characters, including some of the biggest WWE superstars across WWE RAW, SmackDown, NXT, and others.
