Seeing Jim Parsons playing a role other than Sheldon Cooper from The Big Bang Theory gives a similar feeling. Despite being one of the most diabolical characters in the show, Parsons’ Sheldon has garnered enough fans over the years. And his popularity has further increased with Iain Armitage‘s portrayal in the prequel series, Young Sheldon.
So while some fans would love to have him back, Jim Parsons seems to have said goodbye to his character for good after reprising the role briefly in the series finale of Young Sheldon. In a recent interview with E! News, the actor joked he will only return to the role in his next lifetime through reincarnation.

Jim Parsons later added. Stating that it was pretty special to be back as the character, it doesn’t look like he is willing to reprise his role anytime soon. While some fans would still want the cast of The Big Bang Theory to come back for a reunion, they are happy with the end Sheldon Cooper got.

Whether or not Jim Parsons returns as Sheldon Cooper, his brilliant performance has already earned him a place in television history. With Parsons being 51, it seems right enough that he would want to explore and experiment before he is only remembered as his The Big Bang Theory character.
However, with the Young Sheldon sequel series, Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage already in the works, there is a possibility we might see Sheldon again, possibly portrayed by Iain Armitage.
