Call of Duty has been around for quite some time and has generated countless sequels, spinoffs, and subseries over the years. The franchise has grown in numbers and Activision thought it would be an excellent idea to resell these older titles on Steam for a ridiculous price.
The gaming community is no pushover and is not afraid to call out corporate greed as they see fit. Some are open to purchasing older games as long as they come with a reasonable price tag, but the publisher has gone too far and shown its true colors.
Players Are Calling Out the Absurd Price Tag for the Call of Duty Collection on Steam
![The gaming community is not loving the price tag on the Call of Duty bundle.](https://fwmedia.fandomwire.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/05/27074657/Call-of-DUty-World-at-War-Black-Ops-Treyarch-1024x640.jpg)
Phil Spencer made it his mission to get both old and new Call of Duty games on Game Pass and he succeeded by making Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 available on the subscription service on day one. This may seem like good news for subscribers but it also encouraged the publisher to resell classic games for an insane amount that doesn’t seem viable or fair.
Like anyone gonna spent 1000 dollars….

These games have stood against the test of time and while not all of them have aged well, they are worth going back to. However, the quality of the game is certainly not worth the price tag.

The gaming community will not fold to this act of greed; despite how well-received most of these titles are, the price tag is simply absurd. Most of the multiplayer servers for these games are no longer active and regardless of how it is being appraised, the single-player content may be better than most modern entries, but it is still not a great sales pitch.
It all depends on preference and will but there is a strong likelihood this bundle will not be well-received. The price is too high for remastered editions of older games that can still be accessed across various platforms.
Activision Is Sabotaging the Call of Duty Franchise With Corporate Greed
![Call of Duty is a beloved franchise but no one in the right mind will spend $1000 to buy them on PC.](https://fwmedia.fandomwire.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/05/15093905/call-of-duty-modern-warfare-3-1024x576.png)
There is not a good enough reason to spend a fortune on classic titles that shouldn’t keep their value all that well. There are better games from the franchise that are already expensive and the price tag is tarnishing the reputation of the franchise.
Perhaps this is a method of preserving games from the publisher while also making a profit out of them, which is in bad taste. These games helped shape the franchise into what it is today and Activision is using them as a cash cow to milk everything for what they is worth.
Players can send a message to the publishers by not purchasing it. Publishers will learn the hard way to realize the gaming community will not always go for what they are offering.
Activision is doing more harm than good through this act of corporate greed and the players are strong-willed to refuse this ridiculous offer.
