Helldivers 2 is one of the best live service games available and the gaming community has some wild suggestions that could improve or ruin the game. Other major multiplayer games have emphasized cosmetic items and some of them have taken it too far.

Other live service games featured some iconic cosmetic items inspired by other franchises and not everyone was a fan of it. It takes away the sense of realism and breaks the immersion or illusion the developers have intended, which is probably why Johan Pilestedt is protective of the brand.

Arrowhead Game Studios Doesn’t Need to Copy Others for Helldivers 2

Helldivers 2 does not need to follow the same strategy other live service games use.

While it would be nice to have more options to better stand out in the field, there is one-way Helldivers 2 can do that that only involves customizing the capes in a similar fashion in Stellar Blade, where players can adjust Eve’s hair length and style. However, some players want more and that could be risky on the side of the developers.

One other user saw the clearer picture and realized it would be a mistake to do so. Call of Duty has gone too far and most of the player base are hoping the developers would avoid featuring ridiculous cosmetic items in the future.

Some fans even made a funny comment about how a suit armor would make players look like a Hideo Kojima character sporting a suit before an epic gunfight.

Wearing a suit as a soldier in active duty is not ideal nor will it make the experience better. It can throw players off and will be a major distraction during a match and deviation to what the developers have envisioned for the game.

Helldivers 2 Should Not Allow Bizarre Cosmetic Items to Plague the Game

Arrowhead Game Studios needs to stay true to the core of Helldivers 2.

Other live service games have benefitted greatly from collaborations and crossovers with other popular franchises but director Johan Pilestedt will not allow that to happen as long as he is still breathing. The game belongs in its bubble, unlike Fortnite where other characters from different franchises will appear for a brief crossover or as a purchasable skin in the item shop for a limited time.

Perhaps Arrowhead Game Studios can design a new set of armor with a color scheme that pays homage to suit armors to appeal to those who want one. The game has a rare and unique design that should not be tampered with especially if the developers does not see it fit.

Not all games needs to be the same or similar, that would result in a familiar gaming experience which is not good for business. Arrowhead Studios wanted the game to standout and it succeeded marvelously.

The gaming community needs to ease up on the requests and demands. The developers can only do so much with all the pressure breathing down their necks to try and please the player base.
