If there’s one positive aspect that came out of the latest Call of Duty installment, it’s that the community has started to appreciate the older titles more. The Black Ops series stands out because it consists of some of the greatest games that the first-person shooter franchise has to offer.
Moreover, where Sledgehammer keeps disappointing with Modern Warfare 3, Treyarch has always been more respected by the players. Not only did the developer create the sub-series, but it’s also set to helm the upcoming Black Ops Gulf War, and it seems like the franchise may be bringing back the magic it has lost.
There’s More Appreciation for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War
Continuing the narrative from where the first Black Ops ended, Cold War was received well by the Call of Duty community, but it tends to get overlooked while talking about the best games in the franchise. However, after witnessing what Sledgehammer did to the Modern Warfare series, fans are realizing that Treyarch’s 2020 title deserves more respect.

The recent release of Modern Warfare 3 prompted one Call of Duty player to revisit Black Ops Cold War nearly four years after its launch, leading them to admit that the game is better than the community may have thought.
Accompanied by a video showcasing the vibrant menus that Treyarch’s title includes, the player pointed out that the user interface is more polished than Modern Warfare 3. The most disappointing part about the latest Call of Duty is that even the Multiplayer mode doesn’t feel authentic, as Activision keeps trying to turn it into something like Fortnite instead.
Fortunately, both the Multiplayer and Zombies modes in Black Ops Cold War are reminiscent of the good old Call of Duty days, as “the game is actually fun.”
The Franchise’s Fate Basically Rests on the Upcoming Black Ops Gulf War
The hopes of the community have shifted to Treyarch’s upcoming Black Ops Gulf War, which may not have an official release date yet but is still one of the most anticipated titles of the year.
There have been several leaks and rumors about the game being one of the best CoD titles in years, and players are all for it.

With the sheer amount of issues that Modern Warfare 3 players keep facing on a daily basis, games like Cold War are finally getting the attention they deserve, and the developer may actually put the franchise back on the right track.
