Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone Season 2 is here and the community is already buzzing about what’s missing in it during the launch. Last week, we reported that countries including New Zealand, China, Australia, and Japan will have to wait for Warzone Season 2 until 8 February 2024 given the time zones. The game also promised that a colossal amount of content would be coming in the new season.
Moreover, the fictional character from The Walking Dead series, Rick Grimes, is added as a new operator joined by Station Chief Kate Laswell and BlackCell Operator John Doe. Apart from Warzone, new maps from the original Modern Warfare (2009) are added to the multiplayer.
Redditers Can Smell, Something’s ‘COOOKING’ For Call of Duty
A debate sparked on a Call of Duty subreddit regarding a post on social media platform X (formerly Twitter) made by an Infinity Ward game designer dubbed Cloak&Kill. The post read, “Just wanted to say… We are COOOKING for season 2 mwz content.”
Users started speculating the post was talking about the veteran chef Gordan Ramsay One user dubbed JGarcia0924 suggested to “Have one of the melee weapons be a pitchfork,” just in case. Furthermore, just the speculation ascended excitement among the community, with some already making up their mind to purchase the (hypothetical) content.
Nonetheless, there is no official announcement indicating such a crossover in the game. Instead, the season is focused on spectral forces, bringing in elite operator skins of their flagship characters like Ghost and Soap, ghostly weapon blueprints, and more.
Developers Must Take Notes To Do Better
Some users weren’t happy about Activision not including zombies during the launch. The developers will likely drop MW3 zombies during mid-season. The Dark Aether storyline will continue with new challenges and schematics for a player’s progress. Warlord Keres is being added to the story too where players would need to breach the “fortress in the Killhouse at Orlov Military Base,” according to the official CoD blog.
Developers should take note of the recently sparked conversations about the popular first-person shooter (FPS). A user dubbed Cavesloth wrote,
Sorry, but every release things get worse. If I hadn’t gotten this game a gift, I wouldn’t have spend $70 on this glorified expansion pack, so I’m sure as hell not gonna shell out that much money for the next even crappier, buggier, lower effort turd that slides out of Activision HQ.
Since Modern Warfare 3‘s release, things have been going sideways for Call of Duty. Although it was received positively by the critics, the game’s fanbase tells a different story. With only 2.0 ratings, the latest release became the worst-rated Call of Duty game on Metacritic ever. Thanks to Warzone, it still has CoD‘s back.
The game topped the sales chart in November 2023, however, the numbers remained 38 percent lesser in contrast to its predecessor during the initial three weeks of the release. It was the second best-selling game of 2023, losing the race to Hogwarts Legacy.
