So far, Zombies mode for Call of Duty has emphasised a round-based gameplay loop that rewards players the farther they get into the gameplay. However, this time around, Modern Warfare 3 Zombies will feature a completely different experience.

The Zombies experience arrives in the Modern Warfare universe as a team of multi-national Operators assist the members of Task Force 141 against vast undead hordes brought on by a second major enemy threat.

It seems that this time, players will have the chance to experience a full-fledged storyline that meticulously outlines the hows and whys of the zombie outbreak, instead of directly putting them on the battlefield without any information.
An interesting thing to note is that Modern Warfare 3 Zombies combines threats both from the living as well as the undead. According to the blog, the ‘living threat’ arrives from Terminus Outcomes, a dangerous military organisation hired by Zakhaev.
Rest assured, the developers are doing their best to make this experimental new take on Modern Warfare 3 Zombies an enjoyable experience. They’re blending the best of familiar map features and systems with Treyarch Zombies, so that players aren’t too far from their comfort zones. The mode will launch alongside the Campaign and Multiplayer.
