Call of Duty is one of the biggest game franchises of all time, being in the business of giving players the feel of being on the frontlines or in a firefight, games like this can increase skill as well as ego which is evident during Censor’s live stream after being constantly stream sniped by fellow streamer, Nadeshot. While the short clip may seem harmless and full of humor, it does negatively promote cheating which can ruin a person’s confidence and take away their one place of solace.

Toxicity is part of the package when a gamer signs up to play an online multiplayer battle royale like Call of Duty, Apex Legends, and most notably Fortnite. It is another form of bullying that is quite harmful to someone’s mental state. Queuing up with randoms, you’ll never know whether you get paired with a troll or a decent ally or even against players with better stats and skills, a feature that needs to be resolved before anyone else can rage-quit while in the middle of a match.

Censor’s Call of Duty Matches Are Plagued With Cheaters

Censor's Call of Duty era was a different kind of competitive sport.
Censor’s Call of Duty era was a different kind of competitive sport.

Competitive gaming is truly a stressful sport, but people love it regardless as much as they love to support and occasionally trash their favorite eSports icon. Streamers feel the pressure from viewers as they feel the tension in the game’s combat.

In this short highlight reel from 100 Thieves on X, Nadeshot is purposefully trolling Censor by doing sneak attacks and stealth assassinations which leads the other streamer to react accordingly but in a funny manner. Censor has been a two-time Call of Duty national champion, he is well aware of the risk of streaming his feed where others could use it to their advantage.

Censor was a good sport about it and, Nadeshot is only doing it for fun, both are content creators for a reason. However, there are still others out there who are incessantly messing with those who just want a chill gaming session after long hours at work, and cheaters are ruining it for them.

Activision Should Address The Call of Duty Cheating Issue

Call of Duty players are not too fond of the SBMM feature in Modern Warfare 3.
Call of Duty players are rage-quitting because of hackers and cheaters.

An argument can be made that if a player wants to avoid getting demolished by a lobby full of cheaters, then don’t hop on at all which is a hypocritical sentiment.

Not everyone possesses the skill or patience that others do, and those who are good at the game can either carry or bully the ones who are just in it for the fun. It is up to the developers to oversee the activities of cheaters and remedy the situation.

Single-player games don’t have this problem, the only nuisance is the difficulty setting that is up to the player to choose. Call of Duty has seen a decline in quality in their campaigns, particularly the length which they are heavily criticized for. Are you a fan of competitive gaming? Let us know in the comments below!
