The game’s official Twitter account has teased its latest collaboration, which comes from a hit TV show that has been loved by fans and seen a lot of acclaim in the past. The TV show is AMC’s The Walking Dead. The announcement trailer has been nothing short of amazing, as it shows the characters from the show coming to the game and existing characters in the same art and direction style as the intro to the series.

Call of Duty: Warzone’s collaboration with AMC’s The Walking Dead

Warzone is a very popular game despite the fact that the Call of Duty community thinks it has plenty of problems.

The Walking Dead is one of the network’s most popular TV shows ever telecasted. Like any other series, some fans dislike a few seasons from the entire ensemble of episodes aired. However, the show is primarily well-acclaimed. It also stands at 8.1 on IMDb and 79% on Rotten Tomatoes.

Collaborating with one of the most popular Battle-Royale games ahead of the spinoff series, The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live means the new show will gain additional traction thanks to the promotion. Also, the players of Warzone will get new operators based on the characters they know and love from the series. Fans can check out the official announcement trailer of the collaboration below:

In the trailer, a popular character from the series, Rick Grimes, is teased, indicating that he will be available as part of the collaboration. This makes sense because the series also has plenty of combat and survival elements that are similar to the themes of the Battle Royale game.

Another character featured in the trailer is the primary antagonist of Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 (2023), Vladimir Makarov. It is unclear as to what this means, since the character is already present as an operator in Modern Warfare 3‘s multiplayer modes. It will be interesting to see if something unique is offered for him with this collaboration.

The third character in the announcement is Michonne, from The Walking Dead and its upcoming spinoff The Ones Who Live. Also, snapshots of maps that will be added to the collaboration were teased. The collaboration will likely spread to the game’s Zombies mode apart from multiplayer and Warzone. This is because snapshots of Zombies were shown in the trailer apart from the ominous locations that seem to be confirmed for the title’s multiplayer and Zombies modes.

Why Call of Duty X The Walking Dead offers a breath of fresh air to the players

The collaboration will be much appreciated by the Call of Duty community.
The Call of Duty community will much appreciate the collaboration.

Call of Duty series veterans have always enjoyed its zombie offering. However, the last two entries in the series, Modern Warfare (2019) and Modern Warfare 2 (2022) did not have a Zombies mode. It was most certainly disappointing for fans. But since Call of Duty Vanguard had a Zombies mode that was underwhelming and disappointing for fans, it made sense to exclude it entirely.

However, the latest iteration in the series, Modern Warfare 3 sparked the return of the Zombies mode, and it was appreciated as a welcome addition to the series. It switched up the setting, but fans have still appreciated it as a fun addition, when it is not being glitchy.

Collaborating with the most famous piece of media centered around zombies makes a lot of sense, mainly because of the additions that will come to the game’s Zombies mode. Season 1 Reloaded offered players little to nothing regarding new content, and they were frustrated because of that. Players even admitted that Season 1 Reloaded took away more things than it offered. This collaboration will ensure that the Zombies mode in Call of Duty doesn’t become a Ghosttown.
