Call of Duty fans have been waiting a long time for Warzone Mobile and while the game is currently available in some select regions, the worldwide release is now pushed to 2024. The game was initially slated to launch in the Fall of 2023 but will now launch in Spring 2024, developers announced at the COD Next event.

There were several details revealed about the Call of Duty franchise at the COD Next event including Modern Warfare 3‘s Zombies and multiplayer mode as well as the future of Warzone Mobile and what will the game bring for players upon launch.

Warzone Mobile was first announced back in 2022 at the COD Next event and revealed that it would bring popular maps from the PC and Console versions and a multiplayer experience with up to 120 players.

The game gained much traction when the developers announced that they are targeting a fall 2023 release window. However, the game has now been delayed to Spring next year and will see several changes. Talking about the game and its delay, co-studio head Chris Plummer stated,

We have a few more things we want to polish up before we release them around the world in the spring of 2024.

Warzone Mobile has received more than 45M pre-registrations on mobile devices and it looks to make the best of its massive fanbase and give them the ultimate experience. The game saw a limited release in select regions back in March this year for players to get feedback on the game so that the game is well polished before the global launch.

This isn’t the first time that Warzone Mobile has been delayed as the game was first scheduled to release on May 15, 2023, as per the app store listing. However, just a few days before the mentioned date, the store listing was updated to November 1, 2023. Although developers hadn’t announced that date, fans still expected it to be released.

Although the game is delayed, there is also some good news that players will be delighted to hear. Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile will also feature Rebirth Island along with Verdansk when the game launches worldwide in 2024. The developers announced the map is specially built for Warzone Mobile and will combine both battle royale and multiplayer elements for a thrilling experience.

Since the game is already available in select regions, Rebirth Island is also now live in those regions. The developers stated that a massive of feedback from the players in limited release regions and they will keep working on players’ feedback to improve the game. In collaboration with Call of Duty studios and technology teams at Activision, the Warzone Mobile teams across Activision Shanghai Studio, Beenox, Digital Legends, and Solid State Studios continue to work through their feedback to make all elements of the game even better with refinements to everything from performance and polish to gameplay, touch controls, menus, and more.

Warzone Mobile will have two battle royale modes and three multiplayer modes. The game will not have cross-play but will feature cross-progression with the battle pass across Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0, and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 so that players can up their ranks and obtain rewards wherever they play. The game will also share operators and weapons from Warzone 2.0 and Modern Warfare.

The game will be improved during the time gained from the delay and developers look to improve it to render at high fidelity, reduce installation footprint, improve customization as well and inclusion of multiplayer maps like Shipment and Shoot House. Activision has also said to be looking to add more regions before they launch globally.
