When you think of games like Call of Duty, UX/UI is hardly one of the key components that come to mind. After all, user interface and experience are primarily something that takes a back seat with these games, and the reason might be the fact that they weren’t problematic to begin with. After all, good design is invisible!

But, in a recent discovery, players are finding out how Warzone Mobile’s UI might just be the better one, and fans of the original game are having a tough time figuring out why. Fortunately, not everyone thinks it’s a good decision, but in the grander scheme of things, this kind of design might just attract more players to the game.

Vertical UI is a prominent part of Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile

This layout may just improve the experience of managing important parts of the game.

In the original version of the game, loadouts and other key info is often spread out over different tabs, which ultimately means that you have the landscape orientation for browsing through different menus, and this has been the traditional way of doing things in Call of Duty games. At least, the modern version of the franchise.

This is where platforms can have a larger impact. On smaller screens, a change in UI can improve the gameplay experience as well as the micro-management that goes into it. And, that’s where Warzone Mobile’s design decisions come into the picture.

As explored by user charlieINTEL on Twitter, this design layout makes things simpler for players to go about and manage. After all, a smaller screen will require more focused button placements, and looks like the devs want to implement this strongly in this version of the game.

It’s almost as if mobile versions of the same game do everything better

Can this game truly be the best version of Warzone?

Remember the time when Apex Legends came out on mobile? Keeping aside its unfortunate turn of events, the game brought in a lot of features that players on the original platform wanted. There was the comeback (and introduction) of prominent perks, a revamped UI, and much more.

Similarly, Warzone Mobile is turning out to be the combination and evolution of everything the game has learned over the years. Even though some players may not agree with certain design decisions, the game is overall looking to be the best version of the battle royale that has come out in years.

More often than not, these quality-of-life improvements and changes can have a larger impact on the gameplay experience, which may go unnoticed during gameplay but still adds to the enjoyment of it all.
