While the developers have not announced what will be coming with the upcoming season, the new season will take players back to the fan-favorite location of Fortune’s Keep.

Fortune’s Keep will return in Warzone Season 2 after almost two years as it was released in 2022 during Season 4 of Vanguard and was very well received by the Call of Duty community. The popular location has now been seemingly confirmed to return and fans are hyped to jump on the map again.

Activision shared a post on its official Call of Duty X/Twitter handle and revealed that Season 2 of Call of Duty: Warzone and Modern Warfare 3 is coming on February 7. It also shared two artwork with the post featuring, seemingly Fortune’s Keep in the background. This has fans convinced that the popular map is returning in Season 2 but developers are yet to make an official announcement.

This comes after Activision teased that Fortune’s Keep might come back as it had been sending mystery packages to some selected content creators. The packages had different models depicting a redesigned POI from Fortune’s Keep map with earthquake damage and the new POI has a waterfront area with a dock going into the ocean.

This could also mean that players will have water combat. Fortune’s Keep map is set in the Adriatic Sea and is smaller than other maps in Warzone. The map was originally released in 2022 but was removed from rotation in November of the same year with the release of Warzone 2. It is now confirmed that players will finally be able to go back to Fortune’s Keep in Warzone Season 2.

The developers had talked about bringing the Fortune’s Keep back in 2024 at the recent Call of Duty Next event and this post is the first confirmation from the developer. Although players are excited to know about the return of Fortune’s Keep, Activision has not yet given an exact release date so the map might return at the start of Season 2 on February 7, 2024, or it could be added during the midseason Reloaded update later on.

The return of Fortune’s Keep might also bring back players who had moved away from Call of Duty Warzone with the current selection of maps. There are also chances that Rebirth Island could return this year as well and reports also suggest that Verdansk might make a comeback too. However, it is advised to take this with a pinch of salt until there is a hint or confirmation from the developer.

Ever Since Warzone 2 was released, the Resurgence maps have been missing in the game and after lots of tease and anticipation, it has now been confirmed that Fortune’s Keep is coming with Rebirth Island seemingly returning at a later date as well. The upcoming season will also bring new weapons, gear, balance updates, and more.

The artwork also gives players a look at the new Ghost skin which has impressed players a lot. The game could also get the Covert Exfil feature soon which was supposed to be released with Season 1 Reloaded update so it might come in Season 2. Moreover, the new Weapon Case feature could also be coming in Season 2 after it was delayed.

Call of Duty has already confirmed a crossover with The Walking Dead that will see the fan-favorite characters, Rick Grimes and Michonne become available in the game as playable operators.
