Activision shared a post on its official Call of Duty X/Twitter handle and revealed that Season 2 of Call of Duty: Warzone and Modern Warfare 3 is coming on February 7. This comes after Activision teased that Fortune’s Keep might come back as it had been sending mystery packages to some selected content creators. The packages had different models depicting a redesigned POI from Fortune’s Keep map with earthquake damage and the new POI has a waterfront area with a dock going into the ocean.

This could also mean that players will have water combat. Fortune’s Keep map is set in the Adriatic Sea and is smaller than other maps in Warzone. The map was originally released in 2022 but was removed from rotation in November of the same year with the release of Warzone 2. It is now confirmed that players will finally be able to go back to Fortune’s Keep in Warzone Season 2.

The developers had talked about bringing the Fortune’s Keep back in 2024 at the recent Call of Duty Next event and this post is the first confirmation from the developer. Although players are excited to know about the return of Fortune’s Keep, Activision has not yet given an exact release date so the map might return at the start of Season 2 on February 7, 2024, or it could be added during the midseason Reloaded update later on.

The return of Fortune’s Keep might also bring back players who had moved away from Call of Duty Warzone with the current selection of maps. There are also chances that Rebirth Island could return this year as well and reports also suggest that Verdansk might make a comeback too. However, it is advised to take this with a pinch of salt until there is a hint or confirmation from the developer.
