One of the most concurrent problems in first-person shooters for PC is the cheaters. Call of Duty Warzone has a severe issue with this. Through the years, the team has banned millions of accounts for using cheats or hacks in multiplayer matches. Activision has now confirmed that the anti-cheat system for Warzone is having some issues, so the cheaters and hackers are back. Players are recommending staying out of the game until Ricochet, when the anti-cheat system will be restored to normal, especially in ranked matches.

Call of Duty Warzone has a serious cheater issue

Activision has a very massive cheater and hacker problem in Warzone. The studio has already banned millions of accounts over the years without a permanent solution. For the PC version of the game, the Ricochet anti-cheat system is used to avoid this kind of difficulty. When this system is down, the cheaters begin to mess with ranked matches and make the game unenjoyable for the regular players who just want to have a good time.

On February 19, thanks to a post from an X insider, players learned that Activision disabled the anti-cheat system in Warzone. The content creator, Kapz, shared this and immediately suggested that players stay out of the game until this issue is solved. Other users replied, saying that it would be a nightmare to play ranked matches or any mode of the game. Warzone is crawling with cheaters, according to the players. This could mean that some changes are coming to the game.

A new wave of banned accounts is coming?

In this post by Kapz, many players are saying that a new wave of banned accounts is coming and that that is why Activision disabled the anti-cheat system. This will be great for identifying cheaters in different types of matches. By not letting users know about the anti-cheat system being down, the cheaters could be discovered and banned quickly, without second thought. Many players are not very happy with Ricochet because of the constant cheaters that you can encounter in any match of Warzone.

Other games like Fortnite or Valorant have not had this many issues with cheaters or hackers since the launch of Warzone back in 2020. Millions of accounts were banned, and they keep coming and figuring out how to hack the anti-cheat system and make the game unbearable to other players that just want to have fun. Activision has not talked about a permanent solution to this; their only measure is to ban the account, but hackers make another and keep doing the same.

I'm a big fan of movies and videogames in general. I really love Pokémon and Godzilla. One of my favorite games is The Last of Us, Part II. A compelling and well-written story is always welcome.
