The patch notes bring multiple changes in multiplayer, ranked play, and Zombies including gameplay changes such as health buff, recoil patterns to weapons, and a melee nerf. Players have long complained of melee weapons being overpowered in Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 and developers took note of this and have brought changes to it in the newly released Season 2 update.

The season 2 update has brought a huge nerf to melee and melee lunge distance has been reduced by 30% for melee weapons in Modern Warfare 3. This makes the weapons similar to how they were in Modern Warfare 2. This will affect all melee weapons and players will no longer be able to throw their knives at enemies from too large a distance.

Players will now have to get much closer to the enemies and then try to take them which will also make them prone to get killed but will increase competitiveness. This is aimed to make melee weapons more balanced so that players are not taking advantage of them but this will surely not be appreciated by players who have a stealthy and tactical play style.

A bug fix in gameplay now allows  Akimbo Weapons to be displayed properly after infiltrating maps. The bug that prevented Hybrid Optics from being toggled while equipping a Comb Attachment on the BP50 has been fixed.

Operation Tin Man, the multiplayer map in Modern Warfare 3 now lets players respond at Tactical Insertions that are in the South Lookout area. The game modes including Hordepoint, Team Gun Game, and Private Match have also received changes that make the experience much better.

Moreover, the recoil pattern of the Striker 9 has been adjusted a lot and players have better control of the weapon while firing. The changes to WSP Stinger have reduced recoil, making it easier for players to control to get the maximum damage output. The Loadout Drop has also been removed from Multiplayer due to limited use in the game.

The MW3 Zombies have also got a few changes in gameplay, killstreaks, and stability fixes, removing crashes. What are your thoughts about these melee weapon changes in the Season 2 update of Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3? Let us know in the comment section.
