Don’t Worry Darling stars have been making headlines due to the constant controversies that surround them. Florence Pugh has been in news for too many reasons as well, one is her love life, and the other is the cast of her recent film.

She was spotted with a young man of her age on Valentine’s day almost a year after her breakup with long-term boyfriend Zach Braff. Her film was drowned in chaos because of major cast changes, which fans think are publicity stunts.

In an interview with Variety, Olivia Wilde opened up about firing LaBeouf after the production started. The filmmaker boldly retaliated explaining how his work ethic did not match that of hers. It was important for her that a safe environment be created on set but LaBeouf’s presence made that hard.

“I say this as someone who is such an admirer of his work. His process was not conducive to the ethos that I demand in my productions. He has a process that, in some ways, seems to require combative energy, and I don’t personally believe that is conducive to the best performances.”

She continued,

“I believe that creating a safe, trusting environment is the best way to get people to do their best work. Ultimately, my responsibility is to the production and to the cast to protect them. That was my job.”

The filmmaker also nudged towards a sour relationship between Pugh and LaBeouf, she claimed that the Black Widow star wasn’t comfortable working with the Transformers actor. Surprisingly a couple of text leaks reflect a friendly relationship between the two actors. Pugh and Shia LaBeouf talked about rehearsals and personal issues, he even explained his reasons for missing rehearsals and made a consistent effort to stay in touch.

Shia LaBeouf categorically denies all allegations

The actor has refuted any allegations by Wilde, he especially emphasizes keeping the facts intact. LaBeouf wrote an email to the filmmaker requesting her to fix the narrative and not lie to the audience.

“I am a little confused about the narrative that I was fired, however. You and I both know the reasons for my exit. I quit your film because your actors & I couldn’t find time to rehearse.”

He added,

“Firing me never took place … It is not the truth. So I am humbly asking, as a person with an eye toward making things right, that you correct the narrative as best you can.”

Wilde is not the only one accusing LaBeouf, his ex-girlfriend FKA Twigs aka Tahlia Barnett filed a lawsuit a few years ago detailing abuse, emotional damage, and sexual battery. Shia LaBeouf was asked to comment on these allegations, and he said,

“I’m not in any position to tell anyone how my behavior made them feel. I have no excuses for my alcoholism or aggression, only rationalizations. I have been abusive to myself and everyone around me for years. I have a history of hurting the people closest to me. I’m ashamed of that history and am sorry to those I hurt. There is nothing else I can say.”

The truth about both these incidences continues to evade the court of public opinion. LaBeouf is awaiting trial.
