The previous rumor surrounding Pedro Pascal’s big MCU role with The Fantastic 4 came true as Marvel Studios has recently announced the cast of the upcoming reboot. The new main The Fantastic 4 cast has created the discussion again. Pascal is set to play Reed Richards, aka Mr. Fantastic, Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning star Vanessa Kirby as  Sue Storm, aka the Invisible Woman, Stranger Things’ Joseph Quinn will play Johnny Storm, aka the Human Torch, and The Punisher actor Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm, aka the Thing.

Beyond the casting, WandaVision director Matt Shakman is set to helm the project. Jeff Kaplan, Josh Friedman, and Ian Springer scribe the project. The details of the plot have not been revealed yet, but considering the light artwork of the teased poster, it could indicate that the movie will not follow R-rated violence. Also, as per a previous rumor, the movie would be set in a period setting, and the poster, new logo, and color palate seem to be indicators of the same. Regardless, the announcement has sparked debate among fans.

Fans Respond to Pedro Pascal’s Big MCU Role

Pascal has been a rising star with an astounding resume of roles under his belt. The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent and Strange Way of Life star asserted his prowess in acting with several successful roles, claiming three Emmy nominations at once. Still, it was hard for fans to relate the actor with Reed Richards. A Zack Snyder fan has pointed out his rant against the casting decision, and several other fans resented the casting as well.

Fans hailed John Krasinski’s brief cameo as Mr. Fantastic in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. He belonged to Earth-838 and was a member of the Illuminati. Fans expected that the Jack Ryan star would reprise his role in the MCU reboot of Fantastic 4, but that idea was tossed in the drain. Marvel Studios also announced the release date of the movie. The Fantastic Four arrives in theaters on July 25, 2025.
