Beyond the casting, WandaVision director Matt Shakman is set to helm the project. Jeff Kaplan, Josh Friedman, and Ian Springer scribe the project. The details of the plot have not been revealed yet, but considering the light artwork of the teased poster, it could indicate that the movie will not follow R-rated violence. Also, as per a previous rumor, the movie would be set in a period setting, and the poster, new logo, and color palate seem to be indicators of the same. Regardless, the announcement has sparked debate among fans.

Pascal has been a rising star with an astounding resume of roles under his belt. The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent and Strange Way of Life star asserted his prowess in acting with several successful roles, claiming three Emmy nominations at once. Still, it was hard for fans to relate the actor with Reed Richards. A Zack Snyder fan has pointed out his rant against the casting decision, and several other fans resented the casting as well.
