The Acolyte series is yet to arrive on the small screen, but fans and critics who were lucky enough to watch the advanced screening continue to rave about the show. As one of the many spinoffs under the Star Wars franchise, The Acolyte has been shrouded in mystery.
Of course, this tactic is to heighten fans’ anticipation for the series, and now with the early reviews out, the level of excitement keeps getting higher.
Carrie-Anne Moss On Playing A Jedi Master In The Acolyte
Disney+’s The Acolyte will give the audience a look at Carrie-Anne Moss’ Jedi Master Indara, a figure destined to introduce a unique blend of martial arts expertise to the High Republic Era. In an interview with Empire Magazine, showrunner Leslye Headland shared:
She is very much inspired by Trinity. I personally wanted to see someone who had the highest status you could imagine in a Force-fu fight – somebody that would come in, and you immediately would be like, ‘Oh, that’s the most powerful Jedi in the room.’ And that’s Trinity.
Headland has no qualms with fans watching The Acolyte and thinking about Trinity with a lightsaber. In fact, she and Moss are more than happy with that. The actress told the outlet:
Within my soul and my spirit, to get to play this Jedi Master and train for the fight was [an] amazing experience. A part of me forgot how much I love action. I love it. It’s hard. But I was just really thrilled that I could do it, and I wanted to do it well.
The showrunner has previously expressed her admiration for Moss and her co-stars for willingly performing their own stunts. This can be a hint that Jedi Master Indara will be involved in a lot of battles in the show.
The cast of The Acolyte also features Lee Jung-jae, Manny Jacinto, Dafne Keen, Charlie Amandla Stenberg, Barnett, Rebecca Henderson, Jodie Turner-Smith, Dean-Charles Chapman, and Joonas Suotamo.
Headland serves as executive producer alongside Kathleen Kennedy, Simon Emanuel, Jeff F. King, and Jason Micallef. Other co-executive producers include Charmaine DeGraté, Kor Adana, Rayne Roberts, and Damian Anderson.

The show is set 100 years before the events of The Phantom Menace, so it is considered the prequel of the prequels. From the teasers alone, fans can already sense that the show is going to be dark and gritty.
As it chronicles the final days of the High Republic, The Acolyte will also delve into the investigation of a series of crimes across the galaxy. Indeed, the characters will be faced with more sinister forces that they have never known before.
The Acolyte will arrive on Disney+ this June 4th.
